Video Conference with Taipei, Taiwan

Connection Test 1 (Japanese)

@Monday at 9:45 - 10:35, June 7 (8:45 - 9:35 Taipei time)  at English class for 12th grader

It was a trial connection and failed by Network connection error.

Mr.Tai who is a member of iEARN in Taiwan gave us a big cooperation and help to do this project. Both of us prepared for this much enough, but we had to finish our work without seeing each other.

During trying to connect, we were finding out the cause of Network error by calling cell phone,  connecting with CuSeeMe and so on. Finally we guessed there are some problems at our side and said good-bye with promise seeing again soon.

It was a typical problem on Video Conference (V/C) through internet.  We always need a lot of time to prepare V/C every time and we have many fails for only one success.  Student's big smile at the success make us go ahead to another challenge!

Connection Test 2 (Japanese)

@Friday at 10:45 - 11:35, June 11 (9:45 - 10:35 Taipei time)  at Business English class for 12th grader

We were checking our all system of network and our technician finally found out the cause of error. It was a wrong connection of cable to the router and some setting on device. We tried to call Taiwan side device and it was succeeded because we saw  library (no one was there ) on our screen.

We emailed Mr.Tai and promised to meet on Friday, June 11. On that day we asked Mr.Suzuki and his class without pre-contact. Of course they agreed delightedly.

Starting with greeting between Mr.Suzuki and Mr.Tai,  next Mr.Tai talked with our students one by one about hobby, life and so on. He always encouraged our students to speak English when they speak Japanese. Mr.Tai teaches Biology and he speaks English very well.

It was the first time to use (operate) Polycom device that time, so Mr.Tai showed us how to do on whole situation. We need to have some  V/C with him and we can get skill more and more.
